Article 1 (Definition of Deposit & All-Inclusive Pricing)

1.The deposit is a sum to cover damages, loss, or contamination of facilities and may not be used as a punitive penalty under any circumstances.
2.StayMonth operates on an 'All-Inclusive' pricing model that includes utilities, so hosts may not delay deposit returns citing utility settlement.
3.Deterioration due to building age or normal wear and tear is the host's maintenance responsibility and cannot be passed on to the guest.

Article 2 (Move-In Protection Period — 48-Hour Golden Time)

1.Guests have a 48-hour protection period starting from the time of check-in.
2.If a critical defect making the property uninhabitable is discovered during this period, a full refund of both accommodation fees and deposit is guaranteed.
3.In such cases, the system withholds payment to the host and initiates an immediate refund process.

Article 3 (Early Checkout & Unauthorized Checkout Settlement)

1.In cases of early checkout due to personal reasons, the deposit is returned based solely on the condition of the property.
2.Unauthorized checkout is defined as 'being unreachable for 24+ hours with no actual occupancy (belongings),' in which case actual costs (e.g., key replacement) may be deducted.
3.Refund of remaining accommodation fees follows separate refund terms or mutual agreement to protect the host's opportunity cost.

Article 4 (Return Timeline & Automatic Confirmation)

1.The host must process the deposit return immediately after checkout inspection if no issues are found.
2.If the host does not submit photo evidence within 48 hours of checkout, the property is deemed in acceptable condition and the deposit is automatically returned.
3.The '48-hour automatic confirmation' principle applies equally even when the host is unreachable.

Article 5 (Dual Evidence Submission Requirement)

1.If a deduction is needed, the host must upload 'damage photos' in the chat room within 48 hours to pause the return timer.
2.Detailed repair estimates and receipts must be submitted within 72 hours after photo registration to be valid.
3.Claims without photo evidence or estimates not submitted within the deadline are deemed invalid.

Article 6 (Mutual Photo Documentation & Mediation)

1.Both hosts and guests are required to document the property's condition with photos immediately before and after check-in.
2.In damage disputes, if neither party has photo evidence, the damage in question is presumed to be a pre-existing condition.
3.If both parties cannot reach an agreement, the StayMonth operations team will mediate, and the team's final decision is binding on both parties.
